Your Questions, Answered

What are the health benefits of using a sauna?+

Regular use offers numerous health benefits including improved cardiovascular function, reduced blood pressure, faster muscle recovery, stress reduction, better sleep quality, skin detoxification, and immune system support.

How long should I stay in the sauna?+

We recommend 15 to 20 minutes per session for optimal benefits. Beginners should start with shorter sessions of 10 to 15 minutes.

Is it included in the Carisma Spa Day?+

Yes. Every Carisma Spa Day includes full access to all thermal facilities, pool, jacuzzi, and relaxation areas — from €25€40€35€25€25€25€25 for the Day of Indulgence facility pass, or from €59€65€65€65€65€59€59€59 for a spa day with a treatment included.

Is it good for muscle recovery after exercise?+

Yes. Heat therapy after exercise increases blood flow to muscles, reduces inflammation, and accelerates recovery.

What should I wear?+

All thermal facilities are swimwear areas. Bring your swimsuit and a towel to sit on.

What types does Carisma Spa offer?+

We offer traditional Finnish heated stone facilities across our spa locations in Malta.

Which location has the best facilities?+

All locations professionally maintained; InterContinental features largest facilities.

What is the difference between a hammam and a sauna?+

A hammam (Turkish bath) is a steamy bathing ritual that includes body scrubbing, foam massage, and warm marble resting. A Finnish sauna is a dry heat room with heated stones.

Can I use facilities if pregnant or with medical conditions?+

We recommend consulting your doctor before visiting if you are pregnant, have heart conditions, low blood pressure, or are on certain medications.
