How Does Kese Affect Your Blood Circulation?

Japanese studies have shown that regular use of kese mittens improves blood flow. Good blood circulation allows the body to quickly adapt to changes in the environment, which has a beneficial effect on the overall well-being of the body.

The kese procedure is widely known in Turkey and in Turkish baths, but it can be carried out independently in the shower or in the bath. For this, you will only need a kese mitten for peeling and olive soap to wash the body after the procedure.

Begin by steaming or warming the skin for 10–15 minutes before using the kese mitt. This softens the outer layer of skin, allowing the mitt to remove dead cells more effectively without irritation. The friction created by the kese stimulates circulation beneath the skin's surface, bringing fresh blood and nutrients to the tissue.

Types of Kese

  • Soft kese — suitable for sensitive skin, gentle exfoliation
  • Very soft kese — ideal for the face and delicate areas
  • Tough goat wool kese — effective for deep body exfoliation
  • Sheep wool kese — traditional option for thorough skin renewal

The useful properties of kese include: opening the pores, helping to remove fluid, preventing skin diseases, accelerating the skin regeneration process, making the skin clean and smooth, preventing cellulite formation and acne, slowing rapid hair growth after depilation, and improving skin tone.

At Carisma Spa, the kese is used as part of the authentic Turkish Hammam experience. Our therapists select the appropriate mitten type for each guest and perform the exfoliation ritual with precision, maximising both the circulatory and skin benefits of this ancient practice.
